Micro, small and medium enterprises help in reducing regional imbalances by assuring more equitable distribution of national income and wealth, West Bengal governor Keshari Nath Tripathi said on Wednesday.Speaking at the inauguration of the three-day, national level Vendor Development Programme-cum-Industrial Exhibition in Kolkata, Tripathi said MSMEs are recognised as important constituents of the national economy.They contribute significantly to employment generation and poverty alleviation, he said in a statement.India is firmly committed to give focused attention to the interest of MSMEs by ensuring better marketing opportunity to this sector, the Governor said.The exhibition participants include NTPC, Airport Authority of India (AAI), GRSE, Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, Coal India Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, among others.
