It’s crucial to integrate AI and machine learning capabilities: Tarun Dua, Founder, E2E Networks

E2E Networks founder Tarun Dua talks about the company's journey, its impact on India's AI landscape, its focus on data sovereignty, and their vision for cloud computing in India

E2E Networks have changed the cloud landscape with their high-performance cloud infrastructure. With advanced cloud GPUs with configurations like 64xH100 or 256xH100, DbaaS, block storage, high-end compute instances and more, E2E Networks is paving the road for a bigger and better cloud and AI experience for companies. SME Futures spoke to Tarun Dua, the Founder of E2E Networks, about what makes them stand out in the cloud market and what more do they aspire to do in the cloud space in India.

Here are the excerpts from the interview:

What specific challenges did you face while building a homegrown hyperscaler in India, and how did you overcome them to become a leader in the market?

We pioneered contractless cloud computing and high-performance cloud infrastructure in India. Our mission from the start has been to build a home-grown cloud infrastructure company offering fully data-sovereign cloud services to Indian businesses. To gain leadership in this competitive landscape, we focused on building brand awareness, gaining customer trust, and overcoming a David-vs-Goliath challenge. We addressed India-specific challenges and provided high-performance cloud services at competitive prices and focused on building a cloud platform that allowed developers to leverage cutting edge technologies.

Additionally, we leveraged battle-tested open-source technologies, emphasising performance and affordability, along with 100% human support for Indian entrepreneurs. Additionally, we actively focused on building the AI ecosystem in India through regular workshops and webinars, and events like AI Day and Innov AI.

E2E Networks is a pioneer in offering advanced Cloud GPUs like A100/H100. What impact are these high-performance GPUs having on India’s AI and ML landscape?

Our provision of advanced Cloud GPUs such as A100 and H100 is significantly helping India’s AI and ML landscape, including AI start-ups and private or public sector enterprises. These high-performance GPUs enable researchers, data scientists, and businesses to train complex AI models faster and more efficiently, driving innovation in AI and machine learning applications. The availability of these GPUs, including configurations like Deep64 (64xH100) powered by InfiniBand, supports intensive computational tasks, facilitating breakthroughs in areas like LLMs, NLP, image and video generation technologies, computer vision, and a range of other advanced generative AI applications.

By democratising access to cutting-edge GPU technology, E2E empowers Indian start-ups and private or public enterprises to compete globally. This access, backed by the confidence of NSE listing and MeitY empanelment, allows for rapid experimentation and deployment of AI solutions, fostering a robust ecosystem of AI-driven innovation in India. It helps reduce the overall cost of AI model training and inference, making advanced AI capabilities more accessible to a broader range of users.

What revolutionary developments are filling the critical gaps in India’s cloud industry?

One of the biggest challenges in the Indian cloud industry was the lack of access to advanced AI-focused cloud infrastructure with high-performance GPU configurations for building foundational models. We addressed this critical gap by pioneering the most performant cloud solutions in the Indian market. We provided instant access to advanced Cloud GPUs like A100 and H100, enabling researchers, data scientists, and businesses to train complex AI models efficiently and effectively.

Additionally, we ensured our cloud was fully homegrown and hosted in Indian data centres, offering the ability to build fully data-sovereign applications. To build trust, focus was put on MeitY empanelment, NSE listing, and various certifications, helping businesses build with confidence and ensuring compliance with the highest standards of quality, availability, and security. Finally, our prepaid billing model ensures full visibility and control of cloud costs.

What are the most exciting trends that you are currently seeing in Indian cloud computing?

One of the most exciting trends in Indian cloud computing is the rapid adoption of open-source generative AI technologies. Large language models (LLMs), vision models, and models for image, audio, and video generation, built on advanced deep learning architectures, are transforming sectors and enhancing accessibility. Combined with technologies like vector databases, knowledge graphs, and advanced AI architectures like RAG, powerful AI agents are boosting productivity and solving long-standing problems.

Initiatives like Bhashini and home-grown LLMs extend AI benefits to wider masses. Indic-language models, for example, provide access to public and private sector services for India’s vast vernacular user base. We are at the forefront of this trend, providing infrastructure for these advanced AI applications. Our AI-first cloud platform supports intensive tasks in NLP, image and video generation, and complex simulations.
