Shayna EcoUnified: Converting plastic waste into sustainable tiles

While there has been an increased interest in and development of plastic recycling systems and facilities, still only 14 per cent of plastic waste is currently being collected for recycling, globally. To contribute towards recycling plastic waste, a unique and innovative startup, bootstrapped in 2017, Shayna EcoUnified makes sustainable and four times recyclable interlocking floor tiles made out of plastic waste. We at SME Futures interacted with Paras Saluja, Founder & Director at Shayna EcoUnified, and covered the complete processing of these sustainable tiles from the scrap to the final product.
