As per news reports, at the CII Conference on Quality Manufacturing which was attended by over 150 industry members, state representatives and entrepreneurs from the manufacturing sector, Shri Sudhir Garg, IRSEE, Joint Secretary, MSME said that India is becoming the hub of intellectual production. He also quoted, “we must improve our competitiveness to absorb global competence in order to emerge as champions of manufacturing.”He further added, “Ministry of MSME has earmarked ₹9000 crore to set up 150 technology centers across India that will provide high-end machines, testing and redesigning facility to enhance MSME competitiveness. He also said that the Ministry has plans to proliferate these centers at the district level.Chandrika Kaushik, Director, Directorate of Interaction with Services for Business (DISB), DRDO, highlighted the importance of quality management right from the planning process up to the disposal stage at the same event.According to reports, Jasmohan Singh, Past Chairman, CII Haryana State Council & Managing Director, Frick India Ltd said “There is a need to put the know-hows into quality control especially in MSMEs to match the standards of the West in Food Processing Industry.”
