The Goa unit of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has welcomed the Union budget saying the provisions will boost employment generation and strengthen infrastructure.
According to the CII, the budget comprehensively focuses on health, micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) and cashew sectors besides on women and senior citizens.
“The budget promotes jobs creation, infrastructure and focuses comprehensively on health, women, senior citizens, MSME and cashews sector,” Atrey Sawant, chairman, CII Goa State Council, said in a statement.
He said that the Union government has promised to take difficult decisions and has implemented a series of structural reforms, as a result of which foreign direct investment has gone up and the ease of doing business has improved.
“In Goa’s perspective, the budget will bring a progressive change for cashew and fishery industries,” he added.
