The Startup Policy Forum (SPF), in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and Startup India, is launching two flagship initiatives, Startup Baithak and Startup Baatcheet, to mark National Startup Day 2025. Scheduled for January 15-16, 2025, at the Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, the event seeks to highlight India’s dynamic startup landscape and address key policy challenges shaping its future.

Startup Baithak will feature 12 exclusive, closed-door policy roundtables, bringing together over 100 startup founders, industry leaders, government officials, and regulators. Participants will engage in focused discussions on critical policy areas, including Data Privacy, Reverse Flipping, AI Governance, Capital Market Regulations and Fintech Regulations.

The sessions will feature prominent startups such as Swiggy, Zerodha, Razorpay, CRED, Pine Labs, Groww, OYO, and Practo, among others. These deliberations aim to bridge the vision of startup innovators with the mission of policymakers, fostering an ecosystem that promotes innovation and addresses pressing challenges.

Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary, Startup India-DPIIT, emphasised the importance of the initiative: “India’s startup ecosystem drives innovation and economic growth. National Startup Day celebrates this entrepreneurial spirit. Initiatives like Startup Baithak and Startup Baatcheet foster meaningful dialogue to empower startups, enabling them to scale globally and strengthen India’s position as a global innovation hub.”

On January 15, 2025, SPF will host Startup Baatcheet, an informal networking evening designed to facilitate conversations between founders, investors, policymakers, and ecosystem enablers. The event aims to capture insights on the startup outlook for 2025 while fostering collaborations across the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Shweta Rajpal Kohli, President and CEO of SPF, highlighted the broader vision, “India’s startup ecosystem is not just thriving—it’s redefining global innovation. Startup Baithak and Startup Baatcheet go beyond celebrating National Startup Day; they are shaping the roadmap for the Indian startup ecosystem in 2025 and beyond. We aim to connect and empower changemakers, aligning with the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision for a globally impactful startup ecosystem.”

National Startup Day 2025 is not just a celebration but a platform to align strategies, explore innovative solutions, and strengthen India’s position as a global leader in entrepreneurship. With flagship initiatives like Startup Baithak and Startup Baatcheet, SPF, DPIIT, and Startup India are paving the way for meaningful collaboration and sustainable growth in the startup ecosystem.

The event promises to inspire the next generation of changemakers, setting the stage for a transformative year for Indian startups.
